1. What version of CIS, or Comodo Firewall, are you currently using:
CIS version 7.0.315459.4132
2. What actually happened or you saw:
The summary screen for CIS currently only shows you how long it has been since the database has been updated. See below link to an image showing this:

3. What you wanted to happen or see:

4. Why you think it is desirable:
-More convenience;
-More control.
5. Any other information:
Say I don’t have internet and I update from bases.cav.
Today is 18feb, but the DB file “a friend gave me” is released, say, on 15feb.
Then, comodo would switch green again, but actually
no update has been made essentially.
Moreover, without internet connection, one cannot see this
and has no means to know from which date he has the definitions.
I am not sure this is required, after 24 hours it does show how many days since the last update. :-\

I can see this as a possible optional GUI option. However, I do agree with captainsticks that there are many situations in which it may be more useful to show how long it’s been.
I can see this both ways. cocalaur, what are you thinking?
Thanks.
Another scenario:

I’m sorry, but after looking over this again I have to agree with captainsticks.
It is necessary to say how many hours previously the AV database was updated. This is necessary for those users who set their AV to check for updates every few hours so they know how long it has been.
Then, after 24 hours it automatically defaults to showing you how many days it has been. Thus, I fail to see what benefit users would gain from being able to see the actual date, rather than how many days previously it was. For most users it will only have been a few days since the last update, at most. Thus, the current template seems to be most useful for the majority of users.
cocalaur, as for the issue you presented in your previous comment, I think that would best be solved through your other Wish. If that is fulfilled there is no need for this one. You could always look at how many days it has been and figure out which date that was.
Am I misunderstanding this Wish? Even without an internet connection it should be able to tell you how many days it has been since you updated.
Thanks.
cocalaur, what are your thoughts about my above post?
Thanks.
It’s no problem.
It was more of an alternative rather than a wish per se.
Okay. In that case I will move this to the Rejected section. I hope that’s okay with you.
Thank you.
