Defense+ in Safe Mode

I’ve noticed that moving large .exe files from one location to another with Defense+ in “Safe Mode” is very slow. This is not the case when Defense+ is in “Clean PC Mode”. Is this a bug? Anyone else can reproduce this?

With Defense+ in “Safe Mode”, try moving a .exe file larger than 50Mb for example from your desktop to any folder. It will take up to 10 to 15 seconds to complete the move. Then try moving the same .exe file with Defense+ in “Clean PC Mode” - it will be nearly instantaneous.

EDIT: perhaps 10 to 15 seconds is an exaggeration for some files. The point is that moving .exe files is slower with Defense+ in “Safe Mode” than with Defense+ in “Clean PC Mode”. I think the larger the .exe file, the slower it becomes. I tried to move a 90Mb .exe file and it took around 15 seconds to move. I just want to know if this is a bug, or is Defense+ in “Safe Mode” doing some extra scanning? If so, can this be sped up?

I can confirm this as I moved a 370M file from one folder to another. I first moved in Clean mode, 11 seconds. Next I moved the same file to the same folder (put it back where it was originally located first) while in Safe mode. This time it took 17 seconds.

Thanks, good to know it’s not just me. I’m surprised it took 11 seconds to move the file in Clean Mode - I would have expected it to be nearly instantaneous. It’s only in Safe Mode that I find the problem.

So I guess we’ll just have to accept this? I see you are a moderator - could you report this to your seniors?

This is a reason why I use “Clean PC Mode”, which works out fine. I hope someone can explain why there is the above slow-down in “Safe Mode” though. I just can’t work out why…
