Defence+ permanently deactivated, but not so (v3.0.17.304 x32)

Hello,

I checked the box labelled “Deactivate Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)” in D+ settings, with D+ being set at “Clean PC Mode”. I restarted my PC and expected D+ to be disabled, but not so. D+ was still set at “Clean PC Mode” with the “Deactivate Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)” box checked.

Doesn’t checking “Deactivate Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)” turn off D+ as the label implies?

Tech info:
Win XP Pro 32bit SP2
ESET Nod32 AV v3.0.621.0
Comodo Firewall Pro 3.0.17.304 (clean install)

The new versions seem to work a bit differently. Try going to miscellaneous/manage my configurations/select and selecting “COMODO-Network Security”.

Hi!

I have a 3 cases where I installed the update it asks to install D+ or firewall.
I select firewall alone but when the installation is completed it has turn on D+

Hi,

It doesn’t matter in what mode Defense+ is if checkbox “Deactivate the Defense+ permanently…” is checked under Defense+ ->advanced->Defense+ settings.

To make sure launch any unknown executable, you won’t receive alerts from D+ as it is truly deactivated.

sded, Comodo-Network security profile is selected.

goodbrazer, I thought so too until I got a pop-up from Comodo asking if I wished to allow Firefox to create a new file (I was in the process of downloading one).

Edit: Forgot to mention, with “Deactivate the Defense+ permanently” checkbox checked but with security level set to “Clean PC” mode, it feels like there is still an element of D+ running as I have Logitech setpoint installed and with D+ on, the GUI is not as responsive as with D+ completely off.

Some features are still enabled when Defense+ is deactivated (probably for security reasons)

If that’s the case, then isn’t the checkbox labelled “Deactivate Defense+ permanently” misleading?

Ditto this.
