A. The ISSUE with Cyrilic cp-1251 in unrecoginsed files list
Can you reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?:
Comodo cant’t handle files with cyrillic in the path name correctly.
If you can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what you did & what happened:
1:CIS automatically adds new entry in unrecoginsed files list that has cyrillic letters in the path.
2:I open the list with the Comodo main window
3:I check the box against that entry
4:RMC and choose remove
5:The entry disappears I press ok and wait about a good half minute until process has finished and the window’s closed
6:I open the list again
7:Supposedly removed entry is still in the list presented
One or two sentences explaining what actually happened:
Entries in unrecognized files list having cyrillic letters in a file path can’t be processed (deleted, moved etc.)
One or two sentences explaining what you expected to happen:
Nothing happens and that’s the issue
If a software compatibility problem have you tried the advice to make programs work with CIS?:
No sandbox involved. Comodo is half compatible with Windows 1251 code table apparently.
Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version:
None
Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how you tried to fix it etc:
I have no idea why. I would like to remove the bugged entries manually right from the file containig unrecognized files list but I don’t even know if it’s possible
B. YOUR SETUP
Exact CIS version & configuration:
8.0.0.4344
Firewall Security
Modules enabled & level. D+/HIPS, Autosandbox/BBlocker, Firewall, & AV:
The problem exists regardless of which module is activated or disabled
Have you made any other changes to the default config? (egs here.):
no
Have you updated (without uninstall) from CIS 5, 6 or 7?:
no
if so, have you tried a a a clean reinstall - if not please do?:
clean reinstall
Have you imported a config from a previous version of CIS:
yes
if so, have you tried a standard config - if not please do:
the problem is irrelevant to configuration
OS version, SP, 32/64 bit, UAC setting, account type, V.Machine used:
Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 32, UAC disabled, Administrator, V.Machine is not used.
Other security/s’box software a) currently installed b) installed since OS, including initial trial security software included with system:
a=none b=Dr.Web antivirus 8.0, Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 2010 both uninstalled with jv16 PowerTools years ago.
