CTM and Windows System Recovery tools are canceling each other out?

I have a newer Dell desktop running 64-bit Win 7. I installed CTM and it takes snapshots automatically. I rebooted tonight and it now shows the Dell screen, the CTM “re-indexing” screen (running from 0% to 100%) and then the Windows startup screen, over and over in that order.

I couldn’t get it into safe mode to launch CTM, so I tried using the Windows System Recovery CD to return to the last Windows image (from about 2 months ago). It did the restore and rebooted, but Windows didn’t come up: it kep cycling from Dell screen to CTM re-indexing screen, to Windows, to Dell, etc.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Hi kihi.lind:
I am very sorry for CTM troubled you.

CTM "re-indexing" screen (running from 0% to 100%)
This is because your Windows closed abnormally, and CTM need to check and repair some data. In fact , this is a known bug in previous version, in some special rare cases may occurs, and it has been fixed. Please use the new CTM version, it will be more stable.

It is not correct, you need to uninstall CTM at first, then restore system from your backup image. For your current situation, you can rebuild MBR and then your Windows can be started normally.

BTW:You can get the lasted version from here: https://forums.comodo.com/beta-corner-ctm/comodo-time-machine-27150952175-beta-released-t57785.0.html

Best Regards !

  1. You’ll return to the baseline snapshot (and not current).
