Could I ask about the resource usage for this product? I would like to have a realtime anti-spyware program alongside avast! I’m in my last months on an old XP and it’s a really tight fit with CPU usage and RAM. I’m having lots of freezes. I can only add another realtime program if it’s really lightweight.

I recommend getting rid of Avast and using CIS alone, much better in all aspects, including resource usage (at least from what I hear of the new Avast, but I can confirm that CIS is very lightweight).

Crystal Security is very light too from what I remember, so they should play well together too.

Thank you very much for that information. 4 to 12 MB is a fairly significant variation range in my view. Could you be more specific about what you have seen with Crystal Light? 12MB would make it one of my weightiest processes, whereas 4MB would put it in the middle.

By “Checkup”, what are you referring to?

How-to-run

  1. Download Crystal Security zipped file from download link.
  2. Extract downloaded .zip file with some extraction tool (e.g. 7-zip or WinRAR)
  3. Double-click (run) extracted executable file of Crystal Security (Crystal Security.exe)

Note

.NET Framework 4 is required.
