Create Rules for Safe Applications

I am using Comodo Internet Security (free) v 4.1.150349.920 and Windows Vista.

I would appreciate some advice as to whether or not to add a tick to “Create rules for safe applications” under: Defense+ → Advanced → Defense+ Settings → General Settings

I have read the Help File information but would appreciate some additional advice:

  1. Is the system more or less secure with this option ticked (assuming that no changes are made to the rules created by Comodo)??
  2. If a rule automatically created by Comodo for a safe application is adjusted by the user I presume that Comodo will leave adjusted rule in place and not try to return it to Comodo’s automatic rule??
  3. For those with experience of this option - is it worthwhile?? would they recommend it to others??

Many thanks.

Would be very grateful for any help on this topic.

I personally would leave it unticked so your registry (which is where all Comodo rules are stored) does not get cluttered unnecessarily. I don’t believe there is any difference in security whatsoever if it is ticked or not. Not ticking it will increase performance and that’s why it was added.
