CPU useage 50% or greater after today's update

Has anyone else noticed a CPU useage increase after installing the latest version - 3.5.57173, 439?

My PC has shown this immediately after launching any app (firefox, email client etc) and continues at a steady level, never dropping below 50%, even with apps closed and nothing running.

If this is a problem, what’s the cure?

Intel P4 2.4GHz
2.0Gb RAM
WinXP SP3

Update:
Reinstalled Comodo with latest downloaded version 3.5.55810.432
and that seems to have cured the problem brought about by just updating the original install.
CPU useage now down to ‘normal’.
