CPU usage 100% when scanning

Hi
When I scan the CPU usage jumps from ~2% to a pretty much constant 97%-100%. This means that scans take a while and the computer is unusable during this time is this normal or is something wrong?. I have just moved from using McAfee, which only used up ~17%.

When you are on a multiple core system set the affinity of cmdagent.exe to only one of the cores. That will lessen the strain on your system.
