If a pop up concerns an unknown app, we are given the opportunity of submitting it via the popup. However, in the main firewall GUI, under SECURITY- TASKS - SUBMIT A FILE TO COMODO FOR ANALYSIS, we can not only submit a file but we can tag a description to the file, if we know what the file is.
How come we cant add a description when we submit via the pop up? Couldn’t the description field be put in the submission window that opens up?
Other than that - very, very polished beta with some much needed and appreciated extras and enhancements. Kudos to Comodo and the development team and all concerned with improving this.
Not a bad idea Panick,
By default, we send security advice as description when you submit through popup.
In case we popup a dialog for user to add details like we do when you submit through"Security-Tasks" section, there may be too many dialogs if for many popup you submit files.
That user may not like!
How do you want to get it implemented in this scenario? Not a big deal to implement, should be smooth and be liked.
One way could be to show a dialog with a check box, “do not show this dialog and always use security advice as description”
I think thats the right way to do it - add a “do not show …” checkbox to the first popup, but add a balloon tip telling the user what the ramifications are of turning it on or off, and add an option under ADVANCED to enable the user to reverse their decision at a later point.
Actually the decision to enable or disable could be made part of the install. This way the user is more informed from the get-go, and the popups are then part of the expected behaviour of the app. Still need to have an option to reverse their choice, though.
Since CPF is already sending some info when a file is submitted, is it really necessary to have an option to send automatic description? Do we just need a “Add your description” field?
