Copy with deleting other than source files - not delete folders, only files

Copy with deleting other than source files - not delete in destination folders, only delete files. Is this normal behavior?
As result, i have many empty folders at destination…

Hi fixin

Welcome to the forum

This should not happen. You should be getting the copy in the destination folder.

Check all your settings. Do you have local disk, network disk checked or are you backing up to CD/dvd? Are you compressing it? If so do you have store full path checked?

Let us know if you get it going.

Create folders C:\test, C:\test2, C:\test\1
Create file C:\test\1\1.txt
Create new backup from c:\test to c:\tes2
Run backup.
Rename c:\test\1 to c:\test\2
Run backup again.
What should I see in folder c:\test2:
c:\test2\test>dir
Содержимое папки c:\test2\test
11.12.2008 14:16 .
11.12.2008 14:16 …

When you changed the name of test1 to test2 did you adjust the name in your backup source setting? If not you will get an empty backup.

I think maybe the problem isn’t clear. What I think he’s saying, (and the problem I am having as well) is that when deleting a source sub-directory entirely that has been previously backed up, in incremental “copy with deleting other than source” mode, the files (in that sub-dir) on the destination drive are deleted… but NOT the folder. So we end up with empty folders that should be gone entirely. Hence, deleting only files but not folders.

So, yeah. Not a great first experience to have with the software…

What is “backup source settings”? I just rename “c:\test\1” to “c:\test\2” and i think, that folder 1 in backup must be deleted in backup with all files in it, and than created new folder 2. But in backup files from folder 1 deleted, but folder 1 is empty - not deleted. This is wrong behavior - as result i have many empty folders!!!

Behavior work in Incremental Backup.
