Connection has failed. Retrying...; Backup failed with code 9 (Internal error).

We had a backup failed last night on a 2012 R2 server:

16.10.2014 01:50:02 Connection has failed. Retrying…
16.10.2014 01:50:03 Reconnection successful.

This is to a Buffalo NAS drive. We were using Windows backup on it before. Any thoughts on this issue?

Did you ever find a solution? I have the same issue with a Netgear ReadyNAS. It will retry every 5 min for 100 times and then error message.

Does this have anything to do with the issue of backing up to a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device where the backup path has to be specified in the format “\ComputerName\ShareName\BackupFileName”? For example, “\192.168.1.5\Windows_Backups\Comodo_Backups\BackupFile”.

This workaround is mentioned by Comodo staff in this post – https://forums.comodo.com/help-cb/mapped-network-drives-do-not-appear-t45259.0.html .
