(Connection error: Auth failed)

Hi,
I am getting a “(Connection error: Auth failed)” on all my servers.

I logged into my account and it says my subscription in still valid.

Any help appreciated.

Brendan

Hello.

May be it was some trouble with waf.comodo.com.
We checked it now. Everything is OK. If your license is valid update can be performed.
Didn’t you change your password?

Thanks for the repy.
Yes I tried changing the password while troubleshooting.
Neither old or new password makes a difference.

Are there some special symbols in new password? We recommend use letters and digits only.
Could you tell me your login in PM?

I have the same issue, found out it’s because the COMODO Web Application Firewall license expired today. This never happened before, I thought the license will not expire or it will be renewed automatically since it’s free. Can you advice how to renew the license? Thank you.

Hello Akabakov,

Please , can you help me ?

I have the same issue on my Comodo WAF. I can not update the rules …

I see the message " Current rules version X.XXX (Connection error: Auth failed)"

I also changed my password and the same problem occurs …

At least I am not the only one now.
I do not feel so lonely lol

To all.
Could you login to https://waf.comodo.com and https://accounts.comodo.com with your credentials and check your license status?

License expired at: 2018-01-20 18:52 UTC

expired at 2022-04-20

please, find the file /path_to_cwaf/cwaf/etc/main.conf and edit it:

  1. comment this string:
    cwaf_passwd=“MD5_password_hash”
  2. and write:
    cwaf_passwd=“plain_text_password”

I have already done that on ten servers.
When I click “Configuration” then “Update confg” > save

I get the message

ERROR! request to server failed!

License expired at: 2018-03-28 19:17 UTC

Expired At 2022-06-28

Same result here … :frowning:

I would like to get some log file extracts with errors, concerning CWAF
For example:

tail -f /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

when you try to save configuration.

[2017-08-02 06:40:35 -0500] info [whostmgrd] Internal Server Error: "POST /cpsess7460382962/cgi/cwaf_main.cgi HTTP/1.1" 500 No response from subprocess (/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/cwaf_main.cgi): The subprocess reported error number 25 when it ended.

We found the next error in logs:

# tail -f /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

It seems to be a bug in cPanel Crontab.pm

Hi Akabakov thanks for your help

My log´s have the same error

Can’t use an undefined value as a symbol reference at /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/524/lib64/perl5/cpanel_lib/Config/Crontab.pm line 299.

There is a topic on cPanel forum, but without answer yet:

Issue with cPanel module Crontab.pm is fixed in version 66.
