Configuring Comodo Firewall 4.0 to work with Shareaza

How do I configure Comodo Firewall 4.0 to work properly with Shareaza?

You can follow:
Firewall Tutorial for Utorrent with Comodo Internet Security and
uTorrent Comodo Firewall Guide.

That guide is working for the most part but I still have the eDonkey network connection saying I have a LowID.

Working with p2p clients there are two things to do. Configure an open port in Global Rules and make an appropriate application rule.

Can you show me a screenshot of your Global Rules? They can be found under Firewall → Advanced → Network Security Policy.

Done and done. See attachment.

Please change:
Allow TCP or UDP In/Out to Allow TCP or UDP In
Source Port is 6346 to Source Port is Any

Make Destination Port 6346 (with p2p programs the source ports can be anything but data comes in at the Destination port).

Under Appliation Rules make sure that the Shareaza rule is somewhere above the All Application rule; you can drag it there. That is needed because when it is under the All Application rule it will follow the rule set by the All Application rule no matter what rule you made.

Show us a screenshot of the Application Rules as well to see you moved it successfully.

I don’t see an All Application rule in Application Rules.

EDIT: Just moved Shareaza to the top of the list and now everything’s working properly.

Glad it finally worked out.

I attached a picture which shows the All Application rule. It is only there when using the Internet Security configuration

That explains why I couldn’t find it. I’m using the Firewall Security configuration.

What mode are you using?

I have been using the complete suite for so long I tend to forget what the names for the Firewall only are. I think Proactive can be compared to optimum… and that’s all I can recall… :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m running Firewall with Optimum Proactive Defense AFAIK.
