Compatibility defense+ with avira antivir

Hi, i would like to know if it is compatible to have at the same time defense+ plus avira antivir. In the control panel of windows 7 advise me to disable one of them because it can be some conflicts. Thanks

Avira is antivirus and Defense+ is HIPS. They’re doing different things, so there are no conflicts between them.

Hey and warm welcome to comodo forums Makarboy!

If it happens that you see high cpu usage add avira here CIS —> Defense+ —> Defense+ Settings —> Execution control Settings —> Detect shellcode injections (i.e. Buffer overflow protection) —> Exclusions —> Add —> Browse…

Thank you for your advices

You could also add Windows Defender in the exceptions of Avira’s guard and Avira in the exceptions of Windows Defender so they won’t watch each other and it’ll prevent potential problems if any.

windows defender can be disable; it’s useless and only uses resources for no reason.

if the user want anti spyware/malware then the user should get superantispyware pro or any alike.

I agree, If your going with the microsoft route, go with MSE. I THINK the only reason they still keep Windows defender on there is to verify if windows is legit, there detection is not good. Like I said, if your going with the microsoft route go with MSE, but better free ones then MSE like Avira, avast, comodo, Avg and others.

MSE is a reasonable AV (and it turns off Windows Defender by default).
It has the advantage of simplicity and compatibility.

If one goes for Avira or Avast or AVG, I agree to turn off Defender.
