Compairing CAVS to ...

Hi

How well does the antivirus part of CIS now compare to comercial products like Kaspersky, McAfee and Norton as well as freely available products such as AntiVir, Avast and AVG?

Note: I chose Kaspersky, McAfee and Norton as these seem to be the default in retail shops and AntiVir, Avast and AVG, most commonly downloaded for free.

I would say 97.1% is a good detection rate.

Good test.

I think it`s hard to compare products. There are several things you have to consider. The detection level, the reparing level in case of an infection, the prevention level. And dont forget what your eyes see, the interface. And then you have die hard fans for each product telling you what is so fantastic about theire suite

I have licenses for kaspersky, norton, trend micro, zonealarm, bitdefender, nod32, norman, f-secure, panda, vipre, a-squared, online armor and panda. (yes, I am a bit paranoid.! ;D)

But I always have returned to comodo after trying out the other suites. I have never had a single infection while using comodo. I think that comodo is just as good as any other security suite today! Comodos defense+ is fantastic. What comodos AV dont catch, you can be sure comodos defense+ will.

I dont think there is any protection today that are as good as CIS with defense+ activated! All you have to do is to understand the way it works. After that, you are well protected!

Lol, how long did you take to do that test ? Must have been a hard one…

oh you forgot to mention if you did an on-demand or realtime scan
