Comodo Widget and Firefox, IE, Facebook ...

Hello.
I am new to CIS 6.
When I installed this Internet Security software, a new Widget (or Gadget?) appeared on my Win 7 64 bit Desktop…
In this widget there are Firefox, IE, Facebook, and Twitter icons.
I suppose this means that these applications are run in some sandbox safe mode, or something…
And Firefox and Thunderbird start much more slowly.
I have discovered in Advanced Configuration that Mozilla is a trusted vendor.
Why Firefox and Thunderbird start so slow? And what should I do to boost their initialization?
Greetings,
Przemek

the slow start is, cause if u start it from the widget, then it will fully virtualized in the sandbox. this can need a lil bit time. if u wont start in sandbox, then dont use it by the widget.

Hello.
I don’t start those applications (Firefox, Thunderbird) from the Widget, but start time is much more longer than before Comodo.
Why is it so? And what I can do to boost it?

Have you run a Rating scan?
It’s recommended to run this scan upon install as it helps CIS classify your folders/files which in turn will help speed things up.

Hello

Have you run a Rating scan?
Well, as you adviced, I did a rating scan, and still Thunderbird starts about 15 seconds. WHY? AND WHAT CAN I DO?

My 2 cents. If you use a “naked” browser it should be ok. With the Trusteer Rapport extension for exemple in IE9, lauching it from the widget took more than 5 minutes and was unusable. Whitout it, it is as fast as dragon now and I can surf 100%. ;D

Please temporarily disable CIS and let me know how long it takes to open Firefox. Then reenable it and see how long it takes to open Firefox. It would be very helpful to have both of those timed so we can gauge what may be going on.

Also, can you please list any other security programs (or extensions such as Trusteer Rapport) which you may also be using?

Hi Chiron!, I don’t know if you’re revolving to me, but I have already exposed the bug 2 days ago https://forums.comodo.com/format-verified-issue-reports-cis/conflict-with-trusteer-rapport-causes-slow-loading-of-ie-9-chrome-v6-m273-t91884.0.html and I uninstalled Trusteer Rapport to solve this as it was the culprit. May be you intended to address another one…! Many thanks for your help in this forum!!!

Hello.
I am using only Comodo.
I don’t think I am using anything else… Truster Report? What is this?
I measured time, and no matter if all the 3 services are enabled or disabled, - Thunderbird starts about 24-27 seconds.
I am sure that before Comodo, Thunderbird (and Firefox too) was starting about 3-5 seconds.
Have you got any idea why it is so?

OK.
I PARTIALLY SOLVED THIS PROBLEM.
MORE LESS THE SAME TIME WHEN I INSTALLED COMODO, I ALSO ADDED THUNDERBAYES ADD-ON TO MY THUNDERBIRD.
NOW, WHEN I DISABLED THIS EXTENSTION, THUNDERBIRD STARTS ABOUT 4-5 SECONDS.
I THINK I SHOULD TRY TO CONFIGURE THIS EXTENSION.
SORRY FOR THIS INATTENTION.

No worries.

Troubleshooting what is slowing down programs is often very difficult. Please let us know if you suspect that CIS may still be playing a role.

Thanks.
