Comodo wants to restart nearly every day

My Comodo wants to restart my computer nearly every day. If the prompt appears, a large white window containing several text lines appears. I’ll attache a screenshot of the error message to this post.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Kind regards,

It looks like CIS needs to restart because a virus was found and needs to be removed.

What file is being flagged as a virus? Can you post a screenshot of the AV logs to see what is going on?

That’s it! Thank you!

CIS tried several times to isolate AdvandeDefrag.exe on my NAS (see attachement).

I tried to check the file by “Jotti’s malware scan”, but I could not access it.
So I took my ANDROID tablet computer and I erased the file.

But what’s about the large white window behind the CIS message box? It comes from CIS also (allways beside the message box!) !

Kind regards,

The alleged virus file AdvancedDefrag.exe is on an external drive on your network if I understand correctly.

It looks like a false positive to me assuming it is a known defragmentation tool. Best thing is submitting it here at the forums in the AV False Positive/Negative Detection Reporting.

When you are sure AdvancedDefrag.exe is a known defragmentation tool and you downloaded it from reputable source you can add it to the AV exclusions/

Do you have CIS set to show AV alerts or not to show them? What version of CIS are you using?

The background with the xml log is an error and should not be happening.

Ok, I didn’t used AdvancedDefrag.exe for a long time, so I don’t need it anymore.

I just downloded CIS two week ago and installed it. It should be the latest version (5.10.228257.2253).

The AV alert was set to it’s default: don’t show. I just changed it.

Concerning the background with the XML log: I should say (or better: write  I’m using three monitors on two MATROX graphic cards. Could that be the reason?

That could be the reason. A strong indicator it could be a bug is that you are using a clean install of CIS.

If you have the time and energy please consider filing a bug report in the Bug Reports - CIS board following the format as described in FORMAT & GUIDE - just COPY/PASTE it!.

Reporting of bugs is strictly moderated to make sure Comodo gets clear bug reports. So, please make sure you closely follow protocol. That way your report will certainly be seen by Comodo staff.

Thank you!

Bug report is done.
