Comodo & utorrent [Resolved]

As you’ll see I’m beyond novice with any of this firewall stuff. I searched forwarding ports and got many hits dealing with utorrent, but it was gibberish to me. I’m using utorrent with unlimitedgamedownloads.com. I need to forward port 36673 and have no clue how. One thing I did get is using UDP leaves another port vulnerable, but utorrent needs that. So please help someone.

Thanks

FI

Port fowarding is just a fancy term for opening ports to me.

NetMon Rule:
Allow
TCP/UDP
Source IP Any
To IP Any or Your Zone
Source Port Any
Destination Port 36673

UDP is a protocol not a port and it’s needed by uTorrent for DHT (trackerless torrents) to speed up your downloads from more sources.

Thank you, I did as you said, but it still tells me:

Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.
A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 36673 on xx.xxx.xx.184…

Error! Port 36673 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website’s IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

Did I miss something?

thank you

Make sure that NetMon rule is moved above any blocking rules (i.e. the last one).

If you’re running a router you need to open the same port.

Thank you very much, worked like a charm.

Thank you

Sure
