Comodo takes extreamly long to open (NEW PROBLEM)

How come when i usually try to open the main window, it takes 10-20 minutes to load?! My computer isn’t frozen, i can still do everything else, Firefox, programmers notepad, etc. Then 10-20 minutes later, it opens, exactly when i don’t need it.

Computer specs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
256 MB RAM

(no i am not upgrading my computer. don’t waste your time trying to convince me)

What version are you using? What other security products do you have? 256 ram is barely enough to get by now a days. Most pc’s have 1 gig or more.

I’m using version 3.0.20.320. My ram is a problem right now unless i’m playing a ram intensive game (rise of nations or halo 1). The weird thing though is that my computer is perfectly fine in those 10-20 minutes, no sluggish loading, freezing, etc. I really like comodo, but this is starting to get annoying.

Hi quackstar,welcome to the forums.,

Have you tried running the Diagnostics tool under miscellaneous to see if that finds anything(worth a try). Also do you have any entries in the Defence+ logs?
Do you open via the shortcut or by the tray icon, and when you try to open the gui does task manager give you a high cpu usage for cfp.exe.

Try upgrading to the latest version. Your version is old and outdated. Upgrading your ram is cheap. I am a gamer. Halo needs atleast 512.

hmm, this is wierd, it says that it can’t create a temp file because of low disk space, even though i have 5 gigs left.

Error 102: Update could not be completed. Not able to create a temporary file on disk, please check there is enough hard disk space.

5 gigs isnt alot at all. 2 can be used up by System Restore. Time to geta bigger drive or uninstall somethings. Run a disk clean up and clean old restore points. Your pc must be pretty old. I have 2 160 gig hard drives on my desktop and a 300 gig drive on my laptop.

I have the same problems on my xp pc, it has to do somehing with the gui that is getting stuck… some people say it has to do with some ati control panel or other graphic card configurations… but if I just reboot my pc the gui is fast again…

It might not be alot, but i would highly doubt that the updater would take up more than 0.5 gigs. If i have enough space then why isn’t it letting me update? I’m running no other anti anything right now besides comodo, and i even disabled it to see if that would do something. Why won’t it let me update?!

And this computer is pretty old. I’m more of an “as long as it works, still use it” kinda guy. I’m not upgrading this, but i will try to run the windows utilitys and see if that does something.

The problem with that is that i’m using integrated graphics. i don’t have another video card.

Are you trying to do an over the top install? You cannot do that. Uninstall your older version of Comodo and download and install the latest version.
