1. What version of CIS, or Comodo Firewall, are you currently using:
7.0.315459.4132
2. What actually happened or you saw:
Cmdupd.exe, part of the CIS updater, makes request to the addresses belonging to CloudFlare (for example 198.41.208.107 and others). However, previously all of these were to COMODO IP addresses.
3. What you wanted to happen or see:
I would like an option to have the IP addresses for all CIS requests be changed to only those owned by COMODO. This could be disabled by default if that would help the infrastructure.
4. Why you think it is desirable:
My software is restricted by a firewall. Currently it is impossible to properly monitor the firewall activity by IP. I think that this is not good for a security software application because it is impossible to restrict the IP addresses connected to trusted IP addresses only.
I can’t control this activity from the administrator point of view. I also cannot control some other programs, but they turn to CDN or unknown IP only at certain times during launch, or other actions.
I’m not sure exactly what is going on with this activity. However, I am willing to forward this for consideration, assuming it garners the necessary number of votes.
I just edited the first post, the title, and added a poll. Please look over them and let me know if everything seems correct. If it is I will forward this to the Waiting Area for voting.
3. What you wanted to happen or see:
I would like all upgrade and other IP addresses for CIS request would be changed to those owned by COMODO only.
It may be the disabled by default setting option
Thank you for submitting this Wish Request. I have now reset the poll and moved this to the WAITING AREA.
Please be sure to vote for your own wish, and for any other wishes you also support. It is also worthwhile to vote against wishes you think would be a waste of resources, as implementing those may slow down the wishes you would really like to see added.
