uninstalled adobe flash player 10.0 and restarted the system. after restart went to adobe official site to download latest flash player. clicked on download and the active x window appeared. clicked on install and comodo popup appeared (though adobe flash is digitally signed it is not whitelisted by us) and i clicked allow and nothing happened. adobe flash player was not installed.
i suspected sandbox and checked D+ events and a file related to flash player was sandboxed. i know what should i do to install adobe flash player. BUT my point here is that first of all adobe is whitelisted then too it gave me the popup adobe is digitally signed but not whitelisted by us. secondly on getting the pop i allowed it so why it sandboxed the related file without any sandbox popup.
the question here is a whitelisted app gives a popup saying it is not whitelisted by us and which after allowing with unlimited rights sandboxes a file related to it without sandbox popup and thus leading to installation failure. what kind of integrated, seemlessly working internet security suite for average users is this which dont follow its whitelist, sandboxes whitelist app, sandboxes without sandbox popup and etc. if for everything you have to open gui, check D+ events, try this-that, then whats the use of this seemlessly working suite whose whitelisted app gives popups, sandbox sandboxes whitelist app, sandbox sandboxes without any popup. your info and comments frds.

p.s. sometimes sandbox popup appears when the program is half done. it appears too late.
one more thing. i uninstalled an app. after the uninstallation completed comodo sandbox popup appeared saying it sandboxed the uninstall file of that app. so the app was completely uninstalled or the uninstallation was corrupted coz the uninstall file was sandboxed by comodo sandbox.
attached is the screenshot of D+ events.

What I see in the logs refers to the uninstalling process. Was this part of the installer procedure or do the logs reflect you running the uninstaller before rebooting?

Flash 10.1 is released only recently. May be it is not whitelisted yet.

I assume the .bat file is not signed. Can you check to see if it is signed or not?

Was this may be the case with the sandboxing of the .bat file?

adobe systems incorporated is there in my trusted vendors so i think any installation from adobe digitally signed should not generate popup or should not be sandboxed. but u said that adobe 10.1 is latest and may not be whitelisted yet. then whats the use of whitelist if for every new version there will be popups. i guess whitelist means there will be no popup and the app will not be sandboxed from the whitelisted vendors when digitally signed, m i right?? in this case adobe flash is digitally signed.
i uninstalled an app. after the uninstallation completed comodo sandbox popup appeared saying it sandboxed the uninstall file of that app. so the app was completely uninstalled or the uninstallation was corrupted coz the uninstall file was sandboxed by comodo sandbox???
plzz check the screenshots in my 1st post. there are 4 entries that say block file. does this mean that the file was blocked?? but i havent blocked anything yet on the system. does this mean they were automatically blocked and why???
There are two ways of telling files are safe. The first on is whitelisting is about individual files. I just checked and the flash player installers for v10.1 are now officially whitelisted (you can test this by trying to add the installers to My Own Safe Files). The second way to tell whether a file is safe is when its signature is on My Trusted Software Vendors.

The sandbox alert sometimes comes late. I think you witnessed that. I am not sure if that influenced the uninstall of the file. It would need testing to figure that out.

I have seen that type of alert when you get the D+ alert asking for elevated privileges (see attached image). When I allow it the Flash uninstaller uninstalls Flash.
When you allowed the alert the program would have run, when you said blocked it should have been blocked and when you said to sandbox I assume it would be sandboxed.
I think that the alerts in View My Defense + Events are not very clear and should be changed.
it didn’t worked in xp 32 but it worked in win 7 64 bit, strange?? (though in D+ events a file related to adobe is shown block file but adobe flash player was installed fine) but why this adobe file is shown as block file in D+ events when i didn’t blocked anything. so this is some automatic blocking, dont know why?? sometimes i think may be i will use CIS for 100 years but will never understand how it works actually. for few probs even help file is not helpful and the help file is also sometimes outdated, not exactly for the current version too.
