Can you provide a link to the standards you mention?

I just cannot see certificate issuance not having some human intervention given the circumstances in this thread.

As the name implies, issuance will be “automated”, it’s a deliberate effort to take away the sort of decision making that leads to legitimate buyers struggling to get a cert.

Not sure if this is for the management of certificates as they expire ie ones that had previously been issued and been through either an automated or manual validation process.

I know Comodo have a brand validation system that traps anything with specific brand names (unless previously validated) and notifies a human to check it before issuance or not. This also applies to all types of certificate.

So, IMHO there will always be a need for that human intervention.
