Comodo main window won't open

Hey all. I have Win7 Win64.

I have CIS installed. Its windows reporting firewall and HIS are working. I can enable and disable game mode.

But I can’t open its main window. I double click its icon on tray, execute it on Star Menu. And it doesn’t open.

If I’d need to reinstall it, is it possible to backup its settings?

You can export your active configuration from Manage CIS Configurations.

Can you check if cis.exe is present in the installation folder of CIS? Also try running Diagnostics and see what it reports and if it can fix it.

I have the same problem after a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro with a Lenovo configuration. I have never been able to enter the main window. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling CIS.

cis.exe exists and goes into process list when started, but disappears after just a second.

CisTray.exe is running.

Doing section A of “Most Effective Way to Reinstall/Update CIS to Avoid/Fix Problems” Comodo Forum and then reinstalling gives the same result.

Cis.exe appears to be crashing. Can you look in c:\ProgramData\Comodo\CisDumps if the crash gets logged by CIS? Do you have other security programs installed. If so which one(s) run alongside CIS in the background?

It looks like you found a bug.

Yup, there is one dump generated per attempt (attached).

There are no other security solutions installed as far as I can see.

When looking today a cis.exe was actually running, don’t know what triggered it, but still no main screen available and after shutting it down it does not appear again.

Thank you for the crash report; it’s not readable for me.

Can you start the main window using the shortcut on the desktop or start menu when you can’t start it from the tray? We may be looking at a bug and I am trying to establish what the extend is.

It is working now so I can’t really help any more ???

I did not take any actions for that to happen.

For your problem a crash log will suffice. I was wondering if there is a specific scenarion that is causing this.

I’ve got the exact same problem as describe above.

Main GUI won’t open.
CIS.exe and CIStray.exe is running.
Main GUI wont open from widget or from start menu.

Also tried removing CIS according the best practise and reinstalling but that didn’t do anything.

This looks like a bug to me when there are no other security programs running alongside CIS in the background.
