Comodo IS 2011 can´t update it self

Hi!

When I´am trying to update Comodo IS 2011 virus database to newest one, it can´t do it. Comodo gives this info: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10408113/Valokuvat/comodo.ongelma.jpg. Is there something wrong in Comodo servers or is the problem in my computer? How I can fix this?

Try running Diagnostics under More. Is that able to fix it? What does it tell?

Is this a clean or upgrade installation of v5?

Diagnostics utility says" The diagnostics utility did not find any problems with your installation." http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10408113/Valokuvat/comodo.ongelma2.jpg

It is a clean installation. A installed v5 about 3-4 weeks ago. Before I installed v5, I removed older version via Windows Add or remove programs and drove through CCleaner for leftovers. (I usually remove all programs via Revo Uninstaller but it didn´t listed Comodo IS ■■■ installed program so I used Windows uninstaller).

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit and Comodo IS (64-bit version) product version: 5.0.162636.1135 and it says that Virus Signature Database Version: 0 ???

go to program files → comodo → CIS → repair → right click on bases.cav and select copy then go back on folder and select scanners, right click and select paste when it asks you to over right select yes. Reboot. Then try to update. If it will not let you past do this procedure in safe mode. Let me know if it works.

I done this in normal mode (it let me past that file in scanners folder) but it doesn´t repaired problem. Comodo is still saying: “Update failed. Antivirus engine is not initialized!”. And database version still remains in 0.

I would suggest you reinstall, something happened and it corrupted the AV.

Or download the latest full bases.cav following Where can i download the latest full AV database?. That will save you a clean install for the moment.

Thanks! I did this and now Comodo IS is working again.

That helped me out… Something needs to be done though, as this problem has been here for years, according to the forums.

As it does not effect all members only a few, the cause can only found through them.

This has been tried a few times without success :frowning:

Sorry I cannot help as the only time I had a problem was by deleting bases.cav in both folders.
