We are pleased to announce hotfix update for Comodo Internet Security v11.0.0.6744
This time we are releasing only updates, all existent 11.0.0.6744 versions will receive them automatically.
Installers was not changed, so all new users will receive hotfix update after installation.
Fixes:
Fixed false alert about Chrome tries to modify it’s settings as reported here.
Improve the detection rate and also the speed of application loading during PC startup (especially for non-brand new PCs) for example CIS loads more slowly than Kaspersky Free.
Detection rate is quite decent these days; it’s something to focus on but so much because of the strong proactive protection CIS brings. The proactive protection is where CIS shines; it does not require detection.
Performance of the AV is on the roadmap but there is no timetable when to expect it.
Yup, quite strange to receive update upon new installation but well, all it’s working good!
Performance is good actually, i would say quite impressive honestly.
The Comodo web site is very confusing, because there seems to be multiple and differing links to download Comodo Firewall, and it’s not clear which are for the latest version and which is for the FREE version. So, I have two questions:
Where can I download the latest FREE version of ONLY Comodo Firewall?
And, is there an offline installer available?
Lastly, I’d like to leave some feedback for the good people at Comodo from someone who wants to see Comodo succeed, and from someone who knows a thing or two about the business of technology: the Comodo web site has been confusing in this matter for some time now, and there doesn’t seem to be any interest in solving the problem – perhaps because it’s not viewed as a significant or serious problem. The reality, however, is that it is a significant and serious problem, so please allow me to be as clear as possible, because I really think that someone at Comodo needs to hear this message.
The problem is that from the perspective of a prospective customer, this is very off-putting – it can make one wonder if Comodo has their act together, or whether Comodo is purposefully being deceptive. Now, I’m sure that neither is actually the case, but that is the perception that this confusion is creating. Furthermore, since the name of the game, when it comes to security, is fundamentally trust, and considering that the very purpose of offering a free product is to win that trust from prospective customers, it is absolutely vital that Comodo put their best foot forward. Instead, it’s as though Comodo is shooting themselves in the foot, and the absolutely tragic part about it is that this is completely unnecessary and easily avoidable. So please, do yourselves a favor and fix this problem.
Comodo Secure Shopping does not work anymore for some reason, I’ve tried repairing it but every time I’ve tried to make it work via the program of itself or via the firewall it says failed to validate browser.
