Fixes:
On top of previous RC v10.2.0.6522, following are additional fixes:

  • Disabled security component is not switched back on automatically after scheduled interval as reported here.
  • Crash in cmdagent.exe as reported here
  • Upon update of Comodo Secure Shopping (CSS), desktop shortcut of CSS could be deleted.

As stated earlier, apart from any regression you can find, we would like you to test following upgrade scenarios and share your valuable feedback:

  • OS Upgrade: Install on Windows 7 / 8.1 and update to latest RS4 IP build and share if you observed any issue.
  • Updating from older CIS versions: Update from older CIS versions (6476 and 6514) using test server settings as suggested in HostSettings_for_Update.png.

Unless we hit any blocker issue, we shall release this version for new users by tomorrow i.e. 15th Mar, 2018 with updates for older versions early next week.

Please share your valuable feedback.

Thanks

:-TU

Hi guys,
updated. Everything is OK for me :-TU

Updated from 6514, seems to work fine, “arma3_x64.exe”, “IObitUninstaler.exe” & “PPUninstaler.exe” keep reappearing in Unblock Applications window.

Win 10Pro x64 1709 (16299.309) - updated from 6514
Win 10Pro x64 1709 (16299.309) - updated from 6522

Win 7 Pro x64 SP1 - updated from 6514
Win 7 Home Premium x 64 - updated from 6476

No problems on any of them and all running well

Updated my Windows 10 to IP build 17115.1 - Windows will BSOD on cmdhlp.sys when it boots. When it doesn’t BSOD, it will cause a black screen when starting up. I had to revert back to the previous IP build, uninstall Comodo, and then reinstall the IP build and the system works fine afterwards.

Hi,
If you could please share crash dump, it will help us figure out reason.

Thanks
-umesh

I have already reverted back to the previous build and it looks like it wiped all of the Minidumps along with it. I will try to install Comodo again on this new build and see if it exhibits the same issue.

It will be much appreciated if you could. Thanks.

Just installed it again on the new build - and I am not seeing a crash on it. Maybe the old version had some old drivers that were not compatible with the new version? Anyways, all is good for now… Thanks!

What was the old version you had before?

The old version was the previous beta before this one. I believe I have also upgraded that one from using the Update function (rather than a clean install).

Windows updated again to IP 17120.1 and the black screens and BSODs came back exactly the same way before. This time around it only BSODs if I manually force it to Safe Mode + Networking, whereas Normal Mode always goes to a blank screen with nothing on it.

In order to fix the issue, I had to do the following:

  1. Boot to normal mode, and long press power button to force shutdown x3.
  2. On the Windows recovery screen, select advanced startup options and then enter BitLocker key to suspend BitLocker protection.
  3. Select Safe Mode when prompted (Safe Mode with Networking will cause Windows to crash)
  4. Add the key ‘msiserver’ under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal, and then start the Windows Installer service.
  5. Uninstall Comodo Internet Security, reboot when prompted.
  6. Once Windows is able to reboot in normal mode, reinstall CIS and reimport saved configuration.

I have attached the minidumps with the crashes that occur in Safe Mode + Networking. This time around I don’t see associated with cmdhlp.sys but removing Comodo does indeed resolve the black screen + BSOD.

Thanks,
may you please also pm me msinfo32.exe output?
