Comodo Internet Security v10.0.2.6346 - BETA

+1

Hi,
Now if you configure beta server setting, you should be able to update from last production version to this beta version.

Thanks

Hi Xeno,
To understand better, may you please provide application you tried?

Also, parent and actual application details you observed in block list.

Thanks

Thanks for providing a Beta for testing. I will, however, not try it as I don’t have a test system available, not to mention that I don’t really have to time to do that. I’ll wait for the release. Until then, updates of CIS will be restricted to the data portions.

Regarding the beta release notes:

  • “2. Automatic Update Download and Installation in Critical Situations”. Please make sure that this will also work in paranoid settings for HIPS and in cases where cloud lookups are disabled. My current strategy is to set HIPS to training mode until the system comes back up after the update. This seems to avoid black screens where some component for a proper desktop startup does not seem to get enough rights to run. Alternatively, one could “automatically trust all file updates with Microsoft signatures”. Please work out that one very thoroughly.

  • “5. Trusted Root Certificate Scan”. I don’t want to trust those certificates Microsoft or anybody else recommends to me. I don’t trust anyone. Only the files explicitly specified are trusted. This feature sounds very useful to check against revoked/removed certificates.

  • “11. Detect shellcode injections Exclusions”. I hope you are testing this also on systems running Cygwin. There are most obscure settings I have to make to allow Cygwin to work.

Looking forward to the release

@ ja94305. I split and merged your post with the beta topic.

It is better to have a discussion about the development here.

Updated my CF version 6294 to this beta 6346. Everything seems normal for now. Just 2 things:

  1. It is normal to appear “Comodo Internet Security Beta” in the Task Manager, when is the CF that is installed?

  1. These strange options also appeared.

Yepp - same question here - how do I get rid of the entries in the contextmenue? An where do they come from? I couldn´t find anything in the settings…

Hi,
These won’t be there in production version. They are for debugging purposes during beta in case we need to investigate any issue with any application.

Thanks

Thx!!

The problem with the launch of the Virtual Desktop (in the final version too) and is not updated “Site Database”

One thing I noticed - after switching to beta an error occurs: webfilters could not be updated each time I´m searching for updates.

I didn´t plan to install the beta and thought there is just a regular comodo update. Now I´m stuck with this beta…

Installed Comodo Firewall Only on Win 10 64 Pro with latest stable build

Everything seems fine here.

  • I think options/tabs “Don’t Isolate It Again” & “Hide These Alerts” on AutoSandbox alert should be little smaller. Currently those seem little bigger & make AutoSandbox alert look kinda bad.

  • Advanced Protection - Miscellaneous - “Do not automatically clean up suspicious certificates” - Little info here…

This update is only available through the beta server so you must have changed your host file to the beta server.

No I didn´t change the host file. I just entered the additional update server in Comodosettings because there was an RC Version some month ago that should be installed until the official release was launched because of some Win10 incompatibility problems… So I just should deactivate the second update server and beta “offers” are gone?

yes that should do the trick.

As long as either hosts file contains beta server IP or comodo proxy and host settings has beta IP address enabled, you should be at website database 2881.

As connected both, all was updated.

When you start the Virtual Desktop does not start.

My Windows 10 Pro Insider x64 build just updated to 16299 successfully and CIS to 6436. Killswitch got updated and Virtual Desktop is working.

Edit. Both the Firewall and AV are registered with Windows Defender Security Center.

It seems to run fine on first impressions.
