Comodo Internet Security v10.0.1.6243 BETA Hotfix

Looks like a minor issue to me. Why not use Secure Shopping?

I did the install on top of the stable build also, but still got the Network Adapter display error

It’s a known issue. Thanks.

How does one install the beta ON TOP of the current build when installing Comodo insists on my removing the current build?

Hi,
You can install any production version and then have following entries in hosts file:
91.209.196.83 download.comodo.com
91.209.196.83 www.download.comodo.com

and then you can use program updates to get updated to this Beta version.

OK thanks.
Greg
now
Error: 0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified.

next?

That is normal as the beta does not contain the ability to install things like CCE/killswitch and newer recognizers.

He should be able to update using steps i suggested.
Checking with team on that.

Hi GearDoc47,
May you please share snapshot of error?
Want to know exactly when it happens.

Thanks

Greg

Thanks, we will check using XP.

Whew!!
Thanks,
Greg

e.g. i have tested myself on Windows 10 and updated from last production v6223 to latest Beta and it all worked as expected.

May be it’s just XP, will get back max by tomorrow.

What’s these items after updating ? :o

Hi GearDoc47,
Please try to update again. We have fixed paths for XP on beta server.

Thanks

It may be there because it is a test build.

Yes, it did ‘fix’ my situation & it did overwrite my 5076/5165 to the beta.
After the requested reboot, I had major difficulty accessing Comodo (no tray icon, etc) but that is for another thread, I guess. (not a beta problem…)
Thanks, Greg

Please share details.

Happy to do that, (my head is spinning at the moment because of 50 or so reboots, crashes, lockups on a different cptr…)
It seems that Comodo is trying to “do” things & WILL NOT allow (us out here) to Know what is happening…
I seem to have made it somewhat better by using Mark Russinovichs’ autoruns & stopping
COMODO Cache Builder & COMODO Scan, then reboot.
I could then see/access the network icon & Comodo icon in the system tray…
I could then access various tools, windows, etc (albeit very slowly)
Now running a full scan on that cptr.
It would be nice to know what Comodo wants at startup, but that isn’t a beta thing. (some popup?) Greg

Hi GearDoc47,
Possible to file a bug report in a format that can help us understand better?
e.g.

It's presented as BETA but pretty stable as it's a hot fix release.
