Comodo Internet Security Premium 5 detects Super anti-spyware as malware

Hi Guys,

Is it safe to use Super Anti-spyware?

My Comodo Internet Security Premium 5 always detects Super anti-spyware as malware.

I am not sure if Super anti-spyware is a false-postive.

I am pretty sure that super anti-spyware is a great product, for scanning of trojans and malwares.

Can I still continue to use both Comodo Internet Security Premium 5 and super anti-spyware together?

thanks

Dear wilsonwx10,

It clearly sounds like you are using something that is refered to in the industry as "Rouge Anti Spyware". Run a search on google for just about ANYTHING if you are not sure:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=1280&bih=857&q=rogue+anti+spyware&aq=0sx&aqi=g-sx3g-msx2&aql=&oq=rouge+anti+sp&gs_rfai=

This “Rouge Anti Spyware” is a wolf in sheeps clothing! It pretends to detect malware/spyware but it’s really doing other things in the background that you are likely not aware of… Downloading Trojan Virus’, Malware, It can spy on you & log what website you go to & it can log all your usernames & passwords you enter then report them back to the developer which is clearly evil & has no intention in helping anyone but him/herself. Don’t take my word for it however; It important that we all know how to seek information. Information being passed from person to person usually looses important details(e.g. Remember when you used to play “Telephone” in school? “Billy goes to school with his lunch on time” turns into “Milly goes to school late & smells bad”.)

Case & point: Obtain information from reputable sources such as books & other literature. People are more than likely not going to help you or they might just steer you in the wrong direction. There might be a few “walking books” out there but they are very few in numbers.

Manny C.

Hey and Welcome to the forum!

I think you have a rouge; i have Superantispyware on my laptop and CIS 5 didn’t report it as malware.

Where did you download it from? My recommendation is that you download anti-malware software from cnet.com

Valentin

Surprisingly enough MannyC, SUPERAntiSpyware is not a rogue. It’s often very easy to spot rogues by their name, and I agree, that SAS’s name sounds like a rogue, but it is legit.

SuperAntiSpyware is NOT a rogue program. Please make sure that you have downloaded it from SAS’s official website.

I have used SAS for a few years now along with Malware Bytes anti-malware; both are the FREE editions and have worked wonderfully w/o adding any new to my PC.

I always download the SAS program & AMWB from the source website by going directly to them:

The CCE tool I downloaded (Version: 2.5.242177.201) and it flags SAS (first time the updater, then the second time the main tool). But it does NOT “flag” the malwarebytes scanner modules.

Hi scottie916,

Thank you for reporting this.
We’ll check it and get back to you soon.
