COMODO Internet Security - file group - is set to “outgoing only” predefined policy. If all incoming connections to CIS are blocked, then how is it able to update. Never having updated CIS, ever, I only presume it can.

Please answer the question, even if it seems a stupid one.

Outbound(outgoing) refers to the fact the data channel (connection) is initiated from the user endpoint whereas the subsequent replies from the remote server are allowed because they are not considered unsolicited.

Thanks for explaining. I found an article on “three way handshake”. It was much easier to comprehend than the video. I skimmed through the article you provided, it was a bit too rocket-science-ish for me.
