Hello Everyone ! :slight_smile:

Here we are happy to announce that the COMODO Internet Security/Antivirus/Firewall 8.2.0.5005 fixes build is released ! Main focus of the release is to address SHA1 CRC32 vulnerability fix and %programdata%/comodo folder permissions.

I know you are also very curious about the new major release CIS V10. Please note that currently we are working â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  this and we will soon provide you a beta built.

Existing CIS 6.x, CIS 7x and CIS 8.x users will receive an automatic update offer for CIS 8.2.0.5005 hotfix release.

What’s new in 8.2.0.5005?

Improved:

• Seperation of CIS network settings and IE network settings: In previous releases CIS used IE proxy settings from SYSTEM account. Now these setting are ignored and only CIS setting will be used.

Fixed:

• Vulnerability of CRC32 checksum of file SHA-1 hash: Additional verification added
• Chromodo v48 doesn’t work in Sandbox

Oh, one thing guys: Is this release compatible with latest Redstone Win 10 build? I heard that this build is making antivirus vendors crazy about compatibility issues…

Thanks for the update. Feels assuring.

Anyway, I noticed a few new Comodo Defense+ Alerts after the update on Windows 10 latest with all updates on boot. Didn’t have these popups before the updates.

For example :

UsoClient.exe
