COMODO Internet Security 2025 Premium Certificate is Revoked, what should we do?

Thanks Prodex for taking the time to do this!

A post was merged into an existing topic: Forum Violation Thread

Thank you for the announcement!

I was expecting a numbered version 12.3.3.8142

In any case, itā€™s very nice of you, even if in Russia you seem to be ahead of us in Canada and Europe on this one, but Iā€™d rather wait for Comodoā€™s official announcement.

Thanks a lot!

Hello, I donā€™t think a new version has been released with the certificate correction.
Even for those in Russia.

The Comodo team is still trying to resolve this revocation situation, letā€™s wait.

Following the forum friends, they informed that it will arrive via update that will require restarting the computer and that a new *.EXE will also be created for those who want to download and install it on their machine.

the fix will arrive at the end of 2024, maybe the beginning of the year

In 2024, we wonā€™t be trolling any more. Itā€™s a thing of the past

consider that the cis had to be named 2024, but the time to release was so long that they named it directly 2025. By the time the fix will go out we will have comodo 2026

Donā€™t worry xgiovioā€¦

Look at all those great grades youā€™ve been getting for so long.

Always 6/6 in detection since version 10.

And in the meantimeā€¦ some impatienceā€¦ Even though the productā€™s effectiveness hasnā€™t changed.

It has been and remains one of the best

Firewall
On the other hand, Comodoā€™s firewall is a strong performer. It successfully detected a number of network attacks that were missed by Windowsā€™ own defenses.
Safe Shopping
The Safe Shopping feature is more of a secure browser with several protection elements such as keylogger blocking and fake SSL certificate detectionā€¦Although it is promising, we found it to be flawed. For example, it could not prevent screenshots,ā€¦

Is that really the case? If so, itā€™s unthinkable (passwords, online banking, tax returns, health dataā€¦).
But: Iā€™ve never had any problems with data theft, identity theft, emptying my account, etc.
I trusted Comodo long BEFORE November 2023, like many here.

I assume the author didnā€™t just copy it from somewhere, but tested it himself.

I can also take screenshots with Firefox. But can a cybercriminal do this too?

That pop-up norton 70% off is pretty telling.
Frivolous articleā€¦

I donā€™t get a popup like that. But I did get it on another website. I also read about the possible screenshots somewhere else.
Are such screenshots possible or not?

Not so long ago a Zero-day vulnerabilities was found in COMODO Firewall and Internet Security Pro (check the dates):

Is that the reason why Microsoft revoked COMODO certificates?
Can COMODO tell us when this vulnerabilities would be fixed?

Not sure that we are safeā€¦

Thereā€™s probably a list of screen capture programs that are malware, but as Comodo no longer maintains its antivirus database very well, we donā€™t know if theyā€™re all recognised by Comodo CIS.

Also, is software such as ShareX, greenShot, Ashampoo Snap, Lightshot, Camtasia, Nero Screen Recorder, Cyberlink Youcam, Roxio MultiCam and others protected by Comodo CIS from malicious use?

And finally, are screen captures via the command line and/or web browsers (since this is now an implemented function) supervised by Comodo CIS?

I would add gamersā€™ streaming software, for example (Avermedia, Nvidia and others).

To conclude, the worst thing is that Comodo Secure Shopping has been stopped and is no longer recognised by Comodo!

In factā€¦ weā€™re talking about Comodo Secure Shopping, but it no longer exists in the 2025 versionā€¦

Was Comodo Secure Shopping the only function that really made it possible to avoid screenshots?

Doesnā€™t it?

Is that it?

Do Comodoā€™s browser extensions protect us against browser screenshots?

Itā€™s possible, but itā€™s useless if you canā€™t get to the attacker.
