a couple of days have already passed and there is no new version yet

It’s strange, this unresolved story of Certificates.

Has anyone found an official communication from Comodo-Xcitium about this problem?

If so, please share the link.

Sorry EricCryptid, but we’re not protected: it doesn’t work anymore

To tell the truth, I think the amount of information is more than a week.

Here on the forum, it was said that it happened last Thursday, today it’s been 7 days and nothing has been resolved.

I think this has been the case for more than 15 days, which would have been enough time to resolve the issue.

Yes, I went to the XCITIUM forum to talk about what is happening.

Why was the certificate revoked anyway?
Previous version of CIS/CF works pretty well.
Maybe there were some malicious tampering with the certificate or the installer to distribute malware over shady sites promoting Comodo 2025?
I’m really curious about it.

@ilgaz
It looks like the revoked certificate may be an issue with Comodo Dragon browser also.

Hello, you asked a great question that no one from the COMODO team has answered yet.
Why was the certificate revoked after all?
I want to know the same thing as you.

Knowing this, things get worse and worse as the days go by without having a solution to this issue. COMODO Certificate.

Can this be the/a solution, I didn’t try it but will do it soon:

  1. "I think the problem is that that DLL is signed with a cert or two that

Win 7 Pro 64-bit (and other versions probably) doesn’t always trust."

Since I started using Windows (Windows 3.1), I’ve installed a lot of software. And, sorry to say, this has only happened with Comodo.

What’s even more reprehensible is that your link shows that this has already happened with Comodo CIS … When it happens once, it’s a mistake, when it happens several times, it’s not.

Why has trust been removed?

So, if I want to attack a computer protected by an antivirus - firewall, I have its certificates “disqualified”?

The security suite would start to malfunction, so I’d already be able to do things on the PC.

Then the user would have to uninstall it… and that would be even easier for the hacker…

Are you sure this isn’t an attack on Comodo?

Someone who wanted to harm Comodo could have done this, couldn’t they?

It would be nice if someone official from Comodo would come and talk about this problem here.

I would reinstall an older version, but they are unable to automatically update to the Comodo CIS Pro 2025 version.

And every time I install and validate the license, I have to have my entire PC scanned, which takes hours.

So I’m forced to do without Comodo until the problem is resolved.

And doing without Comodo… it’s not easy… :sob:

As Cruel Sister and others have noted . . it seems that installed CIS works and contnues to work. I have CIS 2025 (12.3.3.8140) installed and it starts every morning as normal and contines as expected. Last Rating Scan was 4th September

It’s installed on 4 systems - both Win 10 latest version and Win 11 and all Ok

OK! Great!

Thanks so much Dubliner for coming to say that the unrecognized certificate problem was solved.

I’ll be able to reinstall it then :grinning:

Great!

That’s possible. I deinstalled cis and wanted to install it again. But the sign of cmdhtml.dll causes problems. CIS broke the installation.

Oh, I didn’t read the news. :grinning:

But the problem with cmd still exists.

Cannot delete these dll’s!

@deterr_mw

We are almost there with fixing the problem. We aim to share new installers within a week or two. The fix will also allow you to upgrade the existing version (reboot will be required after the upgrade), so you won’t need to uninstall & reinstall.

Wow seriously, a week or two to produce a fix? Your software has been unable to be installed for over a week now and still another week or two to get a solution?

I work for a managed services company and am all to familiar with certificate issues and the problems they can cause, but if we took that long to resolve an issue like this we’d have been out of business a long time ago.
