Comodo free firewall slows down my connection [Resolved]

After installing comodo free firewall (didnt install antivirus, i use NOD32) my internet connection has slowed down quite markedly.

Even if i disable the firewall and defence+ my connection is still slow. As soon as i uninstall Comodo everything goes back to normal.

Could anyone offer any advice? I’m using Windows Vista Home Basic 64bit and my computer is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB | Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3 | WD Caviar Black 640GB | Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5

No one has any suggestions? :frowning:

I’m kinda desperate here, there aren’t that many decent 64bit firewalls.

Hello, Gooooober. welcome to the Forum.
Did you disable Nod32 before you installed CIS?
(Sometimes another AV can cause issues with the installation)

No I didn’t think to do that. I’m not even sure how to actually turn off NOD32 without uninstalling it. There doesn’t seem to be an option.

I don’t use NOD32, so that may very well be your only option to disable it (installing it again afterwards.)
Try that, reboot, and do a clean install of CIS.

I did as you instructed and it seems to have done the trick.

Thanks a lot.
