Agreed. Make it easy to backup and restore. And format it with XML, using UTF
Hi,
I apologize if this has been mentioned already, but I would very much like a feature to reset the user rule list (all the prompts the user has set to ‘remember in the future’) so you can start all over in managing the rules.
To have plugins like Outpost has
(R)
i would suggest something like a plugin to convert IP-blacklists from different applications, like e-donkey or zoneAlarm or Outpost, into a comodo blacklist format
something like they have here black_pink_white - examples
and so it should have a integrated funktion to make a custom ip-blacklist
:THNK
happy new year 2007 to all :■■■■ (:CLP) :■■■■
i would suggest something mode skinand low ressources
hi…Everyone
Especially you Melih << I hope you ready he he he
i have some Problems & Suggestions
let Start
First: The Popup Window
it’s so heavy (i mean not like ZoneAlarm’s Window)
because Zone’s windows so light…
and don’t hang the system like CPF’s Window.
and we want the window in the middle of the screen
(it won’t be a problem…because it will appear anyway)
and if it will appear anyway… Then why it would be in the Perfect Place…am i right ?
or at least you can let the user decide,
Where he would like put it.
Secondly: Comodo is Forget the Programs !!
it’s the weirder problem i ever seen in any program
Comodo Firewall does’t know the program who want
to connect to Internet !!
for Example
i Closed RealPlayer (did you Hear what I said…Closed it Not Minimize it)
then i try to Using (Avant Browser)
CPF said that: (RealPlayer try to Connect to Internet)
Thirdly: Stopping Programs
Zone Alarm had a cool advantage and it’s
Stopping a particular program from running on the computer
i Don’t mean shutting out programs fron the Internet
No I mean For Example: i don’t want anyone using RealPlayer
(i mean don’t let anyone to Operated it…
in short don’t let it run in the Computer)<< Why you don’t say it in the beginning he he he
in the End
i hope my E language is allright…and you understand what i wrote
and i really hope the Best for Comodo
If possible I would like to see the ability to block websites/adsites from being accessed, eg porn, gambling etc.
There are two things i would like to see:
Firstly (not sure if this has already been mentioned). An option to store logs, i would say give an option for never delete logs, and also an option to have a user configured number of days to keep logs. Personally i wouldn’t keep logs any more than 60 days, but other people may vary.
Secondly. A built in WHOIS command in the right click context menu for both the connections and log section.
I would like a way to identify a rule. Just like a “name” field.
Then the possibility to scroll logs and rules with the keyboard (up and down keys) and not only via mouse.
I think, also, that will be useful to add an option to filter (perhaps in network ctrl rules) the packets with the string SYN
(:WAV)
Yes, this could be a nice feature
I downloaded “Comodo Firewall Pro 2.4.11.135 RC1 beta” from Betanews and the new tray icon doesn’t show up the application window, when a double click it or the menu when right click it, I have to browse thru the Start menu for the Comodo Personal Firewall to show it. And the button to minimize the Comodo isn’t working (:SAD)
Sorry for the bad english.
:BNC Anyway I love it, the best free firewall I found
Just so you know an RC is a Release Candidate. As such it is no longer a BETA. You can check out what each means here: Software release life cycle - Wikipedia. I would suggest that the help section might be of more use to you: https://forums.comodo.com/index.php/board,2.0.html, as it may get you a faster response.
I think that it would be useful if the Comodo icon in the notifications area had three distinct “looks” (perhaps colors?) so that the user can verify at a glance if the security level is set to block, allow, or custom. Thank you.
Ignore my comment, please, see this as just something I notice.
My wishes (sorry if some were already suggested by others):
In Activity / Logs / Details, make the text selectable, so one can do copy / paste.
In all the grids (Logs, Component Monitor, Application Monitor etc) make the selected row appear more visibly highlighted; now it has just the foreground color a bit lighter and same backround color, I find hard to tell the selected row from the other ones.
When an Application Acces Denied occurs because of an Application Control Rule which has a user defined Zone as Destination, report the Zone name in the corresponding log entry.
When CPF “permanently” blocks an app (in the sense that for example the browser needs to be closed and re-opened for it to get the connection back), or when CPF shuts the whole connection down, do report that in the log more explicitly, maybe even “The connection was shut down due to…” and with more details. That would make it easier for the user to understand what went on and to try to adjust the settings.
Feature to easily save the settings and rules to files and to load them from files.
In the alert popups, if the IP belongs to a user defined Zone, show the Zone name too (regardless of whether rules exist for that Zone).
Or, even better, kind of automatic WhoIs-like info in the alert popups ;D.
(L)
For example sometimes I’m not in front of the PC so I don’t notice alerts which can pop up for antivirus updaters or such.
Id like to see these things:
1-A program kill option
2-A tracks cleaner
3-Some e-mail attachment protection feature
4-faster loading of the application list
I wish there is a function which can show the traffic in and out (how many KB in and out) when I point to the tray icon.
BTW, the animated icon in the 2.4.11 rc1 looks terrific to me.
Hey, rlprlp, I know that at least starting with Beta release 2.4.10.131, it does just that… If you’re set to Allow All, the icon is green; Custom, blue; Block All, it turns Red.
