When I first tryed to uninstall comodo firewall i got a blue screen, so uninstalled in safe mode, that worked …
But not when I am looking in windows XP Security Manager it says still installed …
Blocking and everything is gone and not working anymore, so uninstall worked, but there is still the entry in Windows XP Security Manager …
I tried to install Zone Alarm or Black Ice, still Security Manager reports Comodo as my firewall …
How can I remove this?
I uninstalled and reinstalled Comodo without any issues yesterday.
I would try doing the following:
Go to your control panel (start–>control panel) and the click on add/remove icon. Go through the list of all programs and remove any firewall products. If you have an anti-virus suite, you should make sure that a firewall is not part of the package. If so remove the whole thing and then reinstall just the anti-virus later. (make sure you have your registration codes before uninstalling the anti-virus stuff).
Reboot the PC.
Go to Download.com and get CCleaner. After installing the program, click on issues on the left hand menu bar and then check for issues. This program will check your registry for stuff that should have been uninstalled, but wasn’t. I would reboot the PC again.
Then try re-installing the firewall of your choice.
I’m not an IT guy, so if someone sees something that needs to be corrected with what I just wrote, please correct it.
