Few points:

  1. XP 64 bit support still not there.
  2. ‘Miscellaneous’ items which were not functional in previous Alpha are also not functional in this one too.
  3. Safe list related Miscellaneous option is also not functional, found some issues, want to get it tested bit more, so we expose it in next setup.
  4. Logs won’t be working in x64
  5. In general this setup is much more stable than previous Alpha and any sort of BSODs/Crashes are most welcome if can be reported.

You can report any bugs you find for the Vista and XP 32 bit versions here.

Melih

so also for winxp 32bit?

Melih,

Will the final version of CFP support Windows 2000?

not the v3.
but the current version we have will.
V3 is a totally different animal and we can only realistically support xp and above.

Melih

Downloaded. Installed.

So far no issues.

It “feels” much more stable than the previous alpha but I guess only time will tell.

The second link says Vista and XP 32 bit setup so to clarify things I have written this above each link.

I’m just replying to change the topic title (XP was initially missing).

PS This version is much slicker. Well done guys… even the installation is much smaller.

Nice! This version is really good. :BNC

I think you should consider replacing the word ‘alpha’ with ‘beta’.
‘Alpha’ can scare a lot of people while CFP is NOT dangerous at all.

Thanks for the new version.

damn… been waiting for an xp64 bit version and it looks like those of us who have that OS are being ignored… (:AGY)

You’re not being ignored. It’s simply a case of what they chose to develop first. Melih has said that is will see light of day, he just hasn’t said what day yet.

Patience grasshopper, patience.

4,3 MB - How is this possible?!?! This poweful piece of software; everything that 2.4 has and much more, but more than 3 MB less for the setup file! Impressing! (and I know it takes less system resources too, it’s a great contradiction ;))

I really can’t wait for a beta, I don’t have a machine to test an alpha version now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Vista Business 32:
I had been running the previous alpha version (but with Defense+ switched off after it forgot the rules I had reconstructed for the fourth or fifth time) and so running the new version’s installer offered to uninstall it. Then I had to remove it via ‘Add/Remove programs’ and then remove the registry entry before I could install the new alpha.

Once that was done, it seems a great deal more polished than the first one and I like the explanations about the different activities. Looks like I need to correct the firewall rules again for our local network as I spent most of the time so far teaching Defense+ about the various programs I may need to run.

Could the setup program offer the choice of not putting an icon on the desktop, especially as it seems to be much lower resolution than the standard (Vista) desktop icons.

same problem here, the alpha2 setup offered to uninstall, rebooted, i’ve removed it from add/remove and now i’m searching the registry. (vista ultimate)

Thanks getting better all the time. Except Avast Anti Virus wont work with it :’(.
But I will survive.
Zos

where is the registry entry? i can’t find it.

thanks for helping a brother out.

CFP 2.4 is great, but CFP 3 looks very promising.
Can’t wait for the final version to come out.

With the Install problem on XP, I found the registry entries at…

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo\Firewall Pro

PS Hi Bizarre™, welcome to the forums. Glad you like CFP… and where it is going. It is fairly cool.

Thank you!
