Comodo Firewall is Causing Dropped Packets when DISABLED [M664]

A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
[ol]- Summary - Give a clear summary in the topic subject, NOT here.

  • Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?: 100% of the time.
  • If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:
    a) Disable the firewall. This can be done either by right clicking the tray icon and choosing Firewall → Disabled. Comodo Firewall can also be disabled via the network adapter properties in Windows and the same issue occurs.
    b) After disabling Comodo Firewall the packets will be dropped, as shown in the images below.
  • If not obvious, what U expected to happen: I expect to not have packet loss when Comodo Firewall is DISABLED.
  • If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?:
  • Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version:
  • Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc:
When Comodo Firewall is installed and ENABLED, the issue does not occur. When Comodo is uninstalled, the issue does not occur.

The issue will occur on a fresh reformat of Windows 8 64-bit and a fresh install of Comodo, with default settings. The issue occurs whether or not IPV6 filtering is enabled or disabled, whether or not IPV6 is enabled in the properties of the network adapter in Windows, and whether or not IPV6 is disabled in the registry of Windows.

This occurs on a fresh install of Comodo Firewall, as well as a configured install.

This issue occurs whether or not the Comodo Firewall application and tray icon is running or exited. This issue also occurs whether or not the two associated Comodo services (services.msc) are enabled or disabled (tested by setting their startup to disabled and restarting Windows).

B. YOUR SETUP (Likely the same for each issue, so you can copy forward)
[ol]- Exact CIS version & configuration: 6.3.297838.2953 (it happend in the prior version as well)

  • Modules enabled & level. D+/HIPS, Autosandbox/BBlocker, Firewall, & AV: My current configuration has everything disabled, including HIPS, Sandbox, and the Firewall. I have no AV installed, besides Microsoft Windows Defender.
  • Have U made any other changes to the default config? (egs here.): I added some global rules and network zones. I enabled IPV6 filtering (the issue happens with or without this enabled, while the firewall is disabled). I use the Custom Ruleset option for the firewall. I have the widget disabled.
  • Have U updated (without uninstall) from a CIS 5?: No
[li]if so, have U tried a a clean reinstall - if not please do?:
[/li]- Have U imported a config from a previous version of CIS: Yes
[li]if so, have U tried a standard config - if not please do: I tried both ways, including the default config without an import and the issue occurs in both methods.
[/li]- OS version, SP, 32/64 bit, UAC setting, account type, V.Machine used: Windows 8 64-bit Enterprise, UAC disabled, Administrator account, no virtual machine.
  • Other security/s’box software a) currently installed b) installed since OS: Sandboxie, only used to run browsers and email clients, and the occasional testing of an untrusted program.
    [/ol]

Files attached. Ping results also attached; these are with Comodo Firewall DISABLED (Results with Comodo Firewall ENABLED are zero packet loss).
A video showing the issue is also attached to this post.

Thank you for your report, in the correct format. I have made some small changes to the way you organized your report, to make it more easy to follow for the devs. Please look it over and make sure that you agree with the way it is right now.

Also, can you please attach a screenshot of the processes running on your computer to your first post. I just want to make sure that this is included, so that if the devs are unable to easily reproduce this they can have more information.

Once you have done that I can forward this to the devs.

Thank you.

Looks good. Processes attached, as requested.

Thank you very much for your report in standard format, with all information supplied. The care you have taken is much appreciated by Comodo, and will increase the likelihood that this bug can be fixed.

Developers may or may not communicate with you in the forum or by PM/IM, depending on time availability and need. Because you have supplied complete information they may be able to replicate and fix the bug without doing so.

Many thanks again.

I was asked to upload a video of the bug. Here it is.

Thank you. I have attached that video to your first post as well, just to keep things all in one place.

Thanks again.

Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (7.0.313494.4115)? Please respond to this topic letting us know whether it is fixed or if you are still experiencing the problem.

Thank you.

PM sent.

Where do I get that version?

The new version can be downloaded from this topic:
https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/comodo-internet-security-703134944115-released-t102577.0.html

Thanks.

The problem still exists.

Thank you for checking this. I have updated the tracker.

The devs have not marked this as Fixed in the tracker. However, sometimes bugs are fixed by the release of new versions, but not marked as Fixed in the tracker.

If you are able please check with the newest version (CIS version 8.0.0.4337) and let me know if this is fixed on your computer with that version.

Thank you.
