I have had Comodo Firewall running on my PC for approx 6mths now with no problems worth mentioning and have always found that any help needed was readily available on these forums here.
Visiting here today I found out about the release of BOClean and as I have been contemplating installing the C.A.V.S. antivirus for sometime have decided to go Comodo all the way and add it and C.A.V.S. to my PC security set up.
At present I have Comodo Personal as my Firewall. I then have AVG 7.5 Free Edition Anti Virus, AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition, AVG Rootkit Free, Spyware Blaster, AdAware, SpyBot S&D. I would like to know if any of the afore mentioned programs will conflict with BOClean and C.A.V.S. and what would be the correct uninstall / reinstall procedure to do this. I understand that i will need to drop my AVG Anti virus to run C.A.V.S. but when I installed CPF I remember following an installation procedure I found on these forums and wondered if someone here could advise on similar to do what I have explained here.
Thanks in advance for any help / advice offered,
Bluesjunior.
Never used CAVS (waiting a bit), but in general terms don’t install 2 AV’s. AVG is nice too.
AVG+CBOClean is fine though.
Boclean is supposed to aid AV’s with it’s memory scanner. It’s an active guard that completes an AV, and has no file scanner.
CAVS should have Boclean’s signatures, but not it’s technology YET.
Also, CAVS is in Beta, so unless you’re prepared to face some problems, i suggest you wait a bit too. Others say it runs just great, but it doesn’t apply to everyone. It’s your move there.
G’day bluesjunior
I’m in agreement with Pedro, waiting a bit till it gets out of beta and tested more. The bug report post in cav forum is a good place to monitor how it’s progressing.
