Comodo Firewall Blocks

I’d like to say that PCF is the best firewall I’ve ever seen. And of the price can’t be beat. (:CLP)
Anyway I’m running utorrent and have some leechers sucking me dry. Utorrent has a ipdat.dat list to block, but somehow I never can get that to work. So in the application monitor I can get it to block just fine. However if I put the same basic info in the network monitor (doing that because it is alittle more easier), it still lets them through. Is this a bug or am I not doing something right? Also is there a way to create a list of blocked IP’s rather than having to add and or edit each one?

Thanks,
John…

Welcome to the forum.

To use a list of IP’s is on the wishlist…

Did you put your rule at the top of the list in network monitor?

Did you block, IP, Any, The IP you want to block, Any?

Can you try to block, TCP/UDP, Out, Any, The destination IP you want to block, Any, Any, and see if that works?

I hope they get 1/2 of that wish list done. Man its long, but really some good stuff in there.
Yes, I put the band ip at the top, and it worked. But I needed to ban like 10 or so and after the 4th one I notice it was still letting them (not the first or second but after them) still connect and download. So it looks like it just bans the very first ones. Thanks for your reply.

John…

That’s very interesting, that some work and others don’t.

As a test, can you please create a couple of Network Monitor rules, with each blocking four IP addresses. If groups of four IPs work, try modifying the rules to include groups of five, then six, then seven etc. It’d be interesting to see how many individual IPs work in a single NM rule.

If it works or doesn’t work, can you please post the results here for the benefit of others.

Thanks in advance,
Ewen :slight_smile:

Hi John,

for blocking an IP you must create a rule like the following:

Action = Block
Protocol = TCP or UDP
Direction = In
Source IP = The IP you want to block
Destination IP = Any
Source port = Any
Destination port = Any

For more information about this rule check this topic https://forums.comodo.com/index.php/topic,193.0.html

Sometimes you need to reboot before blocking IP’s or domains work…
