Comodo Firewall 6.0 has Blocked Azureus / Vuze

The New Comodo Firewall 6.0 has Blocked Vuze EVEN when it is listed as a trusted FTP program. The new version of Comodo does not have ANY obvious ability to control what is happening with your ports. The only thing you can do is add Azureus / Vuze as a trusted program but that does not open your NAT. Also you can not search for something to download in Vuze because Comodo blocks it.

I know this for a fact because when I disable the firewall then Azureus / Vuze works. Comodo version 6.0. Any help appreciated… What should I do?

I knew you were trouble when i saw your name as a new user. Hold on somebody will be right here to help you .

Hi Alice (cool name BTW),

To get torrent software to work, you should

  1. make it a trusted app (already done)
  2. create a rule that allows access to your NAS (the wizard can set this up)
  3. create port forwarding rules on your router based on the IP of your PC and the default inbound port of your torrent software (this is nothing to so with CIS but is required to get full download/upload speed)

If I have more time today, I’ll post back more comprehensive instructions but I have to go to work.

Thanks for your reply but the new dumbed down Comodo Firewall has no place that allows you to create a rule else I would have done that!!! Or if there is a place it is very well hidden or not easy to find! This is why I keep refering to the new Comodo as Dumbed down because I can’t figure out how the hell to configure any settings…

Still at work and I don’t have CIS6 on this system but, from memory, if you click the curvy green arrow in the top right corner of the CIS window, the GUI changes from the summary screen to the TASKS screen, where most of the nuts and grunts of CIS can be modified.

Once you’re in the TASKS screen, the "dumbed-down"edness of CIS6 mostly vanishes.

I just wish the curvy green arrow was a bit more obvious.

Comodo are working on alternative GUIs for CIS6 to see if they can find a compromise between informational, functrional and easy-to-use.

Hope this helps,

Hi Ewen

Thanks for replying.

I clicked and tried everything expect clicking the curving green arrow in Comodo… Will check it out and try get it configured in Comodo and report back afterwards.

It is a noob question I know but later I will need some help with:

  1. create port forwarding rules on your router based on the IP of your PC and the default inbound port of your torrent software

because I am battling with that also.
I attached a jog with image showing how to access the green arrow in Comodo!

This a valuable resource for new and experienced users alike -

It’s worth bookmarking or clicking the question mark on the top right corner on the GUI

Edited -or clicking the question mark on the top right corner on the GUI

Thank you so much for pointing out the circle green arrow, I used it to access the advanced firewall settings and I have now setup Vuze to be treated as an allowed application (rather than and FTP application) hopefully Comodo is now correctly setup…

I am still having no green NAT so I think my Router is blocking Vuze, can anyone help me with that because I can’t figure it out even with reading the instructions from Vuze on how to setup your router… I have included several jpg of how my router setup looks like,

any help much appreciated’
thanks

How you forward the ports to your PC to allow full Torrent speed varies from router to router and model to model.

An excellent resource to guide you is at http://portforward.com/. They have a database of most home routers and provide comprehensive, step-by-step instructions on port forwarding.

One thing you will need to do is to set up your PC with a static IP address, rather than having one allocated dynamically by your router. This is required so you can explicitly name which IP address your router is going to forward traffic to.

Hope this helps,
