Why choose v134 Beta if v136 Stable Chromium was available? Doesn’t lagging behind Chrome/Chromium affect the security in Dragon?

Hi @khanyash,

Thank you for being an active user!

We chose v134 Beta over v136 Stable Chromium at this stage because it offers a more predictable development environment while still incorporating many recent improvements. v134 Beta was thoroughly tested and verified for compatibility with our enhancements and custom features in Dragon.

While v136 Stable is technically newer, adopting the very latest Chromium version immediately can introduce instability, untested regressions, or incompatibilities with integrated components. Our approach prioritizes a balance between modern Chromium features and robust security with platform reliability.

That said, we take security seriously. Any critical security patches introduced in newer Chromium versions are closely monitored and selectively backported into Dragon when applicable — even if we’re not on the absolute latest Chromium version. Our team is working toward syncing with newer stable versions in upcoming releases, once they’ve been fully vetted for our environment.

Best regards,
The Comodo Browser Team.
