Comodo Dragon crashes when called from another application.

Comodo Dragon works perfectly when I load it from a link to the dragon.exe file. But it it crashes when I call it from another application such as from

The LastPass icon (from the LastPass extension installed in my Comodo Dragon)

The Forum button in the Help window of FreeCommander

The Help/Online Help button in Comodo Programs Manager.

In each case I get the Whoa! Comodo Dragon has crashed. Relaunch now? OK/Cancel.
If I have more than one Comodo Dragon open, all crash.
If I click OK the program properly reloads to its homepage.
I had the same problem with the prior version of Dragon, and also I believe with the SWRIRON browser.

I am using Comodo Dragon 17.1 (portable) located in my machine at:

E:\PortableInstalled\Browsers\Comodo Dragon 16xx\Comodo\Dragon.

From the E:\ drive I run Comodo Dragon using 32 bit Windows XP Professional V 2002 Service Pack 3, And Comodo Internet Security Premium Version 5.5.195786.1383, virus signature db version 11361 located in my C:\ drive and 64 bit Windows XP Professional X64 Version 2003 Service Pack 2 and the same Comodo AV &Firewall as above located in my D:\ drive. (The comments below relate specifically to my 32 bit windows, but the 64 bit behaves similarly.)

I tried creating a new user profile using the instructions at

Data/Unable to find a previously installed extension or app

It lead me in my machine to

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Comodo\Dragon\User

After following instructions and renaming the Default folder to Default Backup The Default folder did not reestablish. I believe this behavior is because Portable Dragon uses the User Data folder in the E: drive where my Portable Dragon is located, not the folder in the root drive. – i.e. the instructions do not apply to the portable version (this should be noted in the instructions if correct!)

I retried the procedure in the portable file:

E:\PortableInstalled\Browsers\Comodo Dragon 16xx\Comodo\Dragon Folder

The Default folder appropriately established, but did not solve the problem.

So, how do I get my Comodo Dragon 17.1 (portable) to properly load from another application?

Thank you.

After rebooting a couple of times I now can properly load Portable Dragon from other applications, such as
Comodo Programs Manager/Help/online Help. But Portable Dragon still crashes when I click the LastPass extension button. I have tried enabling all of the LastPass options including loading in the incognito mode. I have also tried it with Dragon both in the normal and the incognito modes. I have also tried uninstalling LastPass and re-installing in both the normal and incognito modes. I have also tried reforming the User Data Default folder as described in the previous memo. Finally, I have rebooted between trial alterations. LastPass still doesn’t work.

I’m using the latest version 1.80.4 of LastPass, and I have Dragon is my default browser

I haven’t established an account at lastPass yet. I don’t see why that would crash my browser, but I’ll try tomorrow.

Thanks for wading thru this litany.
