Hi all. love the Dragon browser but why 6 processes for 1 window with 3 tabs open.?
thanks

my guess is due to me using Dragon 1.0.0.5 portable?

about:memory in the omnibox will tell why they are running… :-La

I am having the same issues but with the latest version. And Jowa saying "look at the omnibox and it will tell me " means very little to me as I dont understand what it means. So back to the question at hand, why do i have 3 or more dragon.exe running.

The omnibox is the URL/bookmarks box.

You can also press Shift+Esc to open a Task Manager in Dragon.

I am no expert but I believe the multiple processes are for stability and speed.
You will notice this with most chromium browsers: multiple processes for each tab or open site.

I believe ChromePlus is the only chrome based browser that allows the user to confine the browser’s activity to a single process. However performance seems to suffer when this option is used and crashes can be expected when alot of tabs are opened.

I believe if you type “about:memory” into the url box you will understand what he meant. ;D

I notice this too. I’m sure it’s for a reason like stability and such, however with all 6 of them running it does use a great deal of memory…

It uses more than my Firefox does – No telling how much it will use if you had several tabs open.

Simply put it… All the tabs run on its own process…
so if one tab fails or ‘hangs’ you can close it with the Dragon’s task manager by pressing Shift + Esc … then ending it… without affecting the other open’d tabs

thats why it has multiple processes… (I think)

So It has 1 Process for the Dragon it self and each tab you open another process is started…

Hope this helps

And for each plugin too.
