Comodo DNS - What's With All The DNS Entries In ipconfig /displaydns?

I’m using Comodo’s DNS in my adapters and router settings and I’m trying to learn about DNS and protecting it when on the Internet and not have a DNS leak.

I visited like 4-5 sites then ran ipconfig /displaydns and noticed there were like 20 entries and many names from places I never visited and names I didn’t like the looks of what I saw, just strange names, like e.i-hacked.org, phoneloosers.org just loads of what I’d call, like spam ■■■■…

So how did so many DNS entries end up cached in my box when I only visited like 4-5 sites?

Is this like a form of dns cache poisoning?

I thought by using Comodo’s DNS it’s going stop things like this also?

THANKS

It’s not cache poisoning…

Most websites have content from more than one source. Either images, advertising, or code snippets. And if you’re using a browser that pre-caches, it will cache the sites linked to from the site you’re visiting on the chance that you follow that link, in which case, the page will load instantly.

So basically, it’s a very common occurrence to visit a website that makes multiple connections elsewhere.

Ok thanks…

Yeah I guess the cache poisoning is only towards DNS servers…
