I’ve noticed that on two of my friends computers there is usually a message that says that there is an update available for Comodo. If you click the button to update Comodo it says that no update was found. This happens constantly.
Both of these people are running Vista. One has only the firewall installed while the other has the entire package.
Does anyone else have these problems or know of any possible solutions?
Here are some screen shots. The program just updated itself to version 3.13.125662.579 and I still have the problem. As can be seen in the CIS screen-shot below it still says that a new version is available.
Does anyone have any fresh light to shine on the problem?
Yes, on boot there will be the balloon pop-up that says that an update is available for download. If you click on it it will prompt you to check for updates. When you do this nothing happens.
If you go into the program itself to check for updates it reports that no updates were found.
With previous versions you would get such an alert when deleting items from the My Trusted Software Vendors list. Do you happen to delete items from this list?
Please start your own topic in the Install / Setup / Configuration Help board and tell us what CIS tells when it stops. This way this topic will not side track and your problem will get the attention it deserves.
I have the same problem. I run version 3.13.121240.574 on WinXP SP3 and it constantly says there is an update. After updating numerous times, I did a manual update (via Miscellaneous - Check for update) and after it’s trying to update I get an error:
Error 112: Unable to copy file: bases.cav. Please try again.
Try the following workaround (there are problems these days with the av updates for some users): Where can i download the latest full AV database?. Currently the av update servers are down so you can’t download the subsequent updates until the morning hours of the USA East Coast.
Next time please start your own topic. This way your problem will get the attention it deserves and it won’t side track the topic you’re hijacking.
I know that at least one of them is. I installed that one myself and there is no other real-time security running on the computer besides windows defender and CIS.
The other CIS was installed without the AV and is running alongside Avast.
