Comodo Cloud Scanning

Yeh I would like the idea of automatically sending unknown files to comoodo (with user permission ofcourse…)
I’d think that this would greatly take the work load off comodo employees having to search for applications + they’d be able to see what’s used the most and which should be added in priority.

actually the sandbox already automatically sends files, from what I know comodo has received 10’s of millions of files already for analysis. That is where the new 6 million safe files are coming from.

I thought they were only sent VIA the defense+ alerts (Submit file for analysis…) or going to my pending files and clicking send.

So it sends them automatically without asking the user or even a tick box? That’s not good…

the box is already ticked, you can opt out ( though I don’t recommend it because cloud scannign will not work anymore) look in, d+ → sandbox → sandbox settings → automatically look-up/submit the pending/unrecognized programs to comodo for analysis.

What I wanted to say is that, the automatic submission from Sandbox to be implemented in “My own safe files” to. Why? When the Safe List will be functional, a unknown file will be:

  • identified as safe (already exist in database)
  • submitted for analysis from Sandbox (after analysis will be identified as a safe application or not)
  • NOT submitted for analysis from Sandbox because the user just added this application to “My own safe files”…; this application will not be analyzed by Comodo and for these cases should be there automatic submission from “My own safe files”. I do not think their number is decisive (although their number will not be small at all), but that these applications will be the latest and most installed on computers.

With these applications will be identified as soon as safe or not, will increase the protection offered by Comodo. Just my opinion.

Ok thanks! :-TU

Other opinions? Is in terms of realistic, achievable scenario above? Would that be a step forward or will help with anything?

I know a lot of people don’t like Defense+ and lots of alerts but personally I love it.

I like to know exactly what my programs are doing, safe or not.

I also don’t like programs which send data on internet without asking etc. It is my computer and the programs will do what I want!

The idea was that the automatically submission form this files to Comodo Labs must happen with the consent of the user privacy (this happends now with the files automatic sandboxed from Comodo). This would work especially in recent games that every user would immediately add to the “My own safe list” (that they can play  ) and CIS does not have the opportunity to send it for checking and so to add the game to the Comodo global safe list.

Unstickied thread.

CCS collected 486 files from my machine.
Three days after, the same amount of files were detected again.
Now, five days, and the same…
Are the files analyzed and added to the whitelist?
I’m noticing the same with Defense+ submissions: they were detected (if the remember option is not checked) over and over again…
