We are happy to announce the COMODO Cloud 2.2.2.17 was released to public.
What’s new (compared to 2.1.8.0)
- Windows 8 compatibility;
- Improved CCloud drive browsing speed using cache;
- Improved CCloud upload speed using cache;
- Option to share files after being uploaded through dropzone;
- Multi-threaded sync for better upload/download speed;
- Notifications before a paid account expires;
- Status bar (near tray) to indicate that cache is upload/download or in error state;
What’s fixed & improved (compared to 2.1.8.0)
- Slow browsing of CCloud drive if using cache;
- First upload via Dropzone starting slower;
- First upload via the Drop Zone sometimes failing;
- COS Client crash when choosing “Exit CCloud” from the reconnect window;
- Ocasional login GUI freeze;
- Added read after write verification for uploads to CCloud to avoid file corruption;
- Login process that sometimes took too long to complete;
- Explorer freezes when browsing CCloud drive if using cache;
- Uploading C:\Users folder doesn’t fail anymore;
- Added proper notification when CCloud backup/upload failed because of full storage;
- Fixed issue with CB and COS autosignin setting desynchronization;
- Services that were sometimes reported as not started when the GUI was opened immediately after system startup;
- .tmpComodo files issue that sometimes appeared when synchronizing folders with CCloud;

- Issue when user changed his CCloud password, then new attemts to login failed, if he was already logged in;
- Copyright year information not updated properly;
- Invalid file handle is returned when attempting to copy files to the Cloud Drive;
- An extra shell option named “SignIn to Online Storage” is available when right-clicking items from the mounted Cloud Drive;
- Inaccurate timing for the notification dialogs / Notification dialogs overlap;
- Not all files are entirely uploaded to the mounted Cloud drive;
- Two notifications for low disk space are displayed when performing a login into a Cloud account with not enough free space;
- Not all files are entirely uploaded to the mounted Cloud drive;
- fixed issue with changed attributes when source and destination file system don’t support some attributes (compressed, sparse, reparse). Fixed multithreaded sync issue with not supported items (they will not be resynchronized, but ignored - streams for example.)
- Some crashes;
- Some memory leaks;
- Other minor fixes;
Known Issues
-disabling and re-enabling the cache manager makes the mounted drive inaccessible;
-on rare occassions, COSClient.exe may crash when performing the first upload via the DropZone;
-a barely visible DropZone appears when uploading print screens after unchecking the “DropZone” option from the tray icon
-the CPU usage for COSService.exe varies between 40% and 60%;
-the state for the “Status Bar” is not properly correlated with the actions performed;
-the “Status Bar” position is fixed in the lower right corner of the screen;
