COMODO Cloud for Windows 2.1.8.0 Released!

We are happy to announce the COMODO Cloud 2.1.8.0 was released to public.
This is a minor bug fixer update that compared to 2.1.7.51 contains an update for cos-core-lib.dll.

What’s fixed:

  • some requests that took more than expected to complete or returned error 100 (timeout)
  • errors 91221, 91222 and 90409
  • added more debug information in logs to determine cause of errors.

K drive access and uploads using Windows client considerably faster this morning. 25MB file took around 24 minutes, which is about 60% of my potential maximum DSL upload speed, if my calcs are correct. This is before US is online of course, but still an improvement:

Just to tell you right clicking on files to get context menu still v slow, about 33 seconds, so causing apparent temporary freeze. Would you like this as a bug report with dump for replication purposes?

We are aware of this issue. There’s no need of a bug report.
It will be fixed in next release when caching feature will be available.

I have installed this new release, and started to upload new data to my account.
While synchronizing, a yellow circle with an exclamation mark appeared.
After the data was uploaded (took about 2 days), the icon on top of the files changed to a green circle with a check.

So far so good.
Now that I added new files and folders to my sync folder, it appears a yellow start (I suppose it means inactive?) and I dont know how to make COMODO Cloud for Windows to start sending the new data to sync with my account. Can you please help me?

Keep improving. CCloud should be the Standard home for all digital content on different platform/devices!

Very much agreed. Each version of this and CB and each server upgrade is improving things significantly. Backups have gone from max 3% to 5% now 9% of a very large amount of data 26GB! So this test is pretty demanding.

Also agreed re potential future significance. Key issue in online storage is trust. That’s why a trusted, ethical, security company should provide it.

Also worth noting that web client and android version work a lot better. One of the issues is that Windows just was not designed with this sort of thing in mind.

Hi !
I have a problem, everytime i install CCloud(windows) i have a very slow connection 5-30 kb/sec !
I test my internet speed at “www.speedtest.net”(and other sites) and i get 10-15 Mb/sec Down and 2-5 Mb/sec Upload.
What seems to be the problem ? :-[

Are you uploading using CCloud dropzone or are you using CCloud drive?

In the current released version, upload speed via CCloud drive should be around 70KB/s.
We are working to improve this. The next version of CCloud client will have significat speed improvement.

I installed COMODO Cloud Client in Russian. Interface language in Russian. How to me to change interface language to English? (Reinstallation doesn’t help).

You can try to uninstall it, then reinstall in English.
Or you can stop COSClient.exe, then replace \Program Files\COMODO\COMMON\LANG\GUILANG_RU.dll with \Program Files\COMODO\COMMON\LANG\GUILANG.dll
